The Maltese First Division 2010–11 (known as BOV 1st Division 2010-11 due to sponsorship reasons) began on 23rd October 2010 and will conclude on 1st May 2011. Dingli and Msida were relegated from the 2009–10 Maltese Premier League while Lija and St. Andrew's were promoted from the Maltese Second Division 2009-10.
League Changes
The Maltese Second Division consists of 10 teams. The winners and the runners-up win automatic promotion to the Maltese Premier League.
For the 2010-11 season, the team placing 3rd will be promoted to the Maltese Premier League due to the change in the maltese league format.

A total of ten teams will contest the league, including six sides from the 2009–10 season, two relegated teams from the 2009–10 Maltese Premier League and two promoted teams from the 2009–10 Maltese Second Division.
