Ignaz Bösendorfer (1796–1859)

Ignaz Bösendorfer (July 28, 1796 – April 14, 1859) was an Austrian musician who founded the Bösendorfer piano manufacturing company in 1828.

His close relationship with the Austrian royal family, and later with Franz Liszt, ensured the success of his creations. After his death, his son Ludwig took over the firm.
