Category:Smallville
Hello, thanks for the compliment, and kudos to yourself for the good work on the Smallville pages. Categories are automatically updated by putting a link to the category on each page. To add or remove an article from the category, simply add or remove Category:Smallville from the article. See Wikipedia:Categorisation FAQ for more. In this case it seems like you are talking about Episodes of Smallville (Season 4), which has been replaced by Smallville (Season 4). Rather than simply hiding the first one, the best option is to redirect the old title to the new one. I have done so by replacing the text at Episodes of Smallville (Season 4) with "#REDIRECT [[Smallville (Season 4)]]", which creates a redirect. - SimonP 16:13, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
Reckoning Pic
I didn't remove that one because of the WB logo, which would violate copyright issues because there isn't permission for it. I changed it back to ther original picture because the original is not shaded and is in better focus. That picture is out of focus and has a blue tint to it. That is part of the promotion screenshots that first aired with the trailer, not of the actual screenshot taken from the episode. It didn't need to be changed in the first place.Bignole 05:22, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Why do you keep changing all the pictures? Also, we do not have permission to use the WB logo. Bignole 06:27, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
yes she is hot. The picture thing, if that is your argument then why did you change the other pictures? Your excuse was that you were updating them. Every picture has been fine, with the exception of the logos that we do not have permission for. Bignole 06:44, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
The two photos are the exact same, one is resized so that it is more clear. You keeping it at the original size so that you can view more of what's going on in the background is nonsense because there is nothing else going on. Clark is dropping dirt into the grave, no one is behind him and it's clear what he is doing. The other picture does nothing but zoom out of what is happening and at the loss of quality. I could probably understand if say there were others behind him weeping and you wanted to include them, but there was no one, every had already left the memorial, or were in the process of leaving. Your own argument could be used against. (i.e. the Angel of Vengeance). The episode wasn't just about her, it was Clark dealing with his loss, hence the reason why the picture of him choke holding the goon was used, to show the connection between episodes, that he was still feeling the pain. A picture that best represents the episode is not Denisse's face, but of Clark's struggle to cope with his lose. So I ask why you changed that picture? Bignole 14:31, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
There is no "standard" argument when it comes to pictures, otherwise you didn't need to change the Opening page picture to a promotional image. The image of the opening credits was in HDTV standards...so why change that? Just because you have a crush on Denisse doesn't mean that she is what is always remembered in that episode. I think about Clark struggling with his animosity and not about the Angel of Vengeance. You have to look deeper into what is really going on in those episodes, she wasn't the focus of that episode. Remember, the episode titles usually carry several meanings and toward several characters. As for Reckoning. It is the same picture, mine is just in better focus. What I think is that you don't like others editing this page, especially when it comes to putting images up. That is why you replaced most of them to your images, because you wanted your stuff up there. If you are in that dire need of attention then you can have your Reckoning picture put back up on the page. Bignole 14:57, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
My image is up to your standard format. There is no standard when it comes to where you get the image, just so long as it is the right size, does not interfere with the article sections and looks good. Let's see, my image is 250px (the right size), is doesn't intrude on the article (i.e. it isn't in the middle of the paragraph), and it's in focus. That to me seems like it fits all the standards. You are the one making up this "HD" standard. Guess what, when it is put on the internet the image quality changes anyway, because computer work of higher qualities than televisions anyway, even the HDTVs. Your image and my image are from the same scene, they are both taken from the same thing, just mine is in better focus. Why is mine in better focus because I have photoshop and it has the ability to focus and clear images that are not sharp. The problem with HD pictures is that unless what you are using has the ability to read it then it doesn't look any different. The same principle goes behind a TV. If you do not have an HDTV then you cannot view and HD program. The image RECKONING is a better image. It's the same size as all the other pictures (exception would by CYBORG). The opening page image doesn't represent the article any better just because it is of the same size as the other pages. The article is about SMALLVILLE, not the 100th episode RECKONING. The original image was a more accurate image for this page (until the DVD comes out, which I agree that cover would be better suited for this page). Bignole 15:45, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
Link
why did you remove that link? It was an active site. Bignole 19:31, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
have you actually visited the site? that is a Smallville website. It carries the same type of information that Kryptonsite does. The reason for having it is because it's good to have more than one site to verify information. It's the same principle you apply to references on a book report. You don't just use one source, you use multiple because people can print anything. Same goes for the internet. People can make a website about whatever, and people can edit a wikipedia page to say whatever. That is why I deleted that description for VOID, because neither site had any information on that episode or any episode that would even verify a portion of what that person tried to say the episode was about. The website is good, i have been to it several times. Bignole 21:17, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
External links are just for giving credit for where we get the information. External links are for people to have the ability to go to another site that provides further information. That website contains material, forums, reviews, etc... that differs from Kryptonsite. Wikipedia isn't about providing one view of something. The second website, and any other website that is Smallville (officially) related that is added to the "external links" list, is necessary for verification reasons, addition views reasons and because it has pretty pictures..lol. The point is that External Links are not just for crediting sites that we use information from but also to verify that the information is accurate. If Kryptonsite posts information that says Gen. Zod will be played by Jude Law, and the other site says that Gen. Zod will be portrayed by Ewan Mcgregor, then I am going to say that something is a little fishy. Now, Kryptonsite is known to be more accurate, but let's face it, I have read information that was contradicted several times in their spoilers pages. It's good to have another site that can substaniate the claims of the site that we mainly use. Bignole 14:45, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
Season 2
It isn't "The exodus", Exodus is the name of the episode. The captions should say what is happening in the photo, and Clark is leaving Smallville in that shot. The Exodus, more fully The Exodus of Israel out of Egypt, was the departure of the Hebrew slaves from Egypt under the leadership of Moses and Aaron as described in the biblical Book of Exodus. Tomb
Please leave the picture for Tomb alone. It was perfectly fine the way it was. I went through lots of trouble just to get that picture. Thanks
talk page
go to the Smallville talk page and read the picture section I created.
new pictures
Please note the conversion above about the fair use of pictures. I was told (and you can go to my talk page to verify) by the webmaster of Kyptonsite that we can use any picture on that site as long as kryptonsite's link is listed and credit is given, also we have permission to allow their logo to be shown as well. So, we can use pictures from the trailers of upcoming episodes that they post on their sites, and we don't have to worry about cropping the images. He told me that if there was any problems/questions to email him. Bignole 17:47, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
Also, could you photoshop that pic so develop the contrast a bit me, it's a little dark. just a suggestion. Bignole 17:48, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah I like the Cyborg picture, too. The quality is amazing, but the episode was shot really well, too. But that just points out what I am saying, now that we have permission to use their images we can also use images that do not air, from their website. Bignole 19:46, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
