Game of Thrones is an upcoming American medieval fantasy created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss based upon the series of novels A Song of Fire and Ice by George R. R. Martin. The series takes place on the fictional continent Westeros and chronicles the violent power struggles between noble families for control of the Iron Throne of Westeros. The series will premiere on HBO on April 17, 2011.[1]
