The Jim Pattison Group is one of Canada's largest privately held corporations. It has over 27,000 employees, with annual sales of $5.7 billion and assets of $3.7 billion.

History

This company was started in 1961 when Jimmy Pattison acquired a Pontiac-Buick car dealership in Vancouver. It has since expanded into groceries, media, advertising and entertainment. The company also owns many of the important distribution and financing businesses in these industries. Most of this expansion has been through acquiring already successful companies.

One of the most prominent employees is former Premier of British Columbia Glen Clark.
