Erebuni Airport (ICAO: UDYE) is a joint civil and military airport serving Yerevan and the country of Armenia. It is located 7.3 kilometers south of the center of Yerevan. At present, the airport is mostly operated by the military, although private firms operate chartered helicopter flights inside the country and to the CIS.

Incidents and accidents

On November 4, 2008, an Mi-24 military helicopter belonging to the Armed Forces of Armenia crashed as it was preparing for a training flight. Captain Arshak Nersisyan died as a result of the accident. [1]
