These articles are tracked as a reference for editors developing film project articles. These articles provide style guidance to articles going through the same process. To my view, we shouldn't even have "film project" articles, except in extreme circumstances where there is a wealth of information that cannot be housed elsewhere, as by definition they fail WP:NFF. I agree this category and it's parent category are better suited for the talk page. However this is not a Wikipedia Project so if it cannot be added to talk pages then perhaps they should be deleted.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 13:43, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comment – there are a lot more of these in Category:Years of the 20th century in Zimbabwe and Category:Years of the 19th century in Zimbabwe. I can't offhand see what the problem would be with using the correct name for the country in each year (within the parent Category:Years in Zimbabwe), especially as Southern Rhodesian general election, 1958 makes no mention of Zimbabwe. (I think an article should only be placed in categories which follow immediately from the contents of the article without needing extraneous info. I am not suggesting that Zimbabwe should be inserted into every article that mentions Rhodesia.) Occuli (talk) 15:06, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. Why did the nominator not do a group nomination of all the similar categories?
It seems to me that since the state of Zimbabwe came into existence in 1980, it is worth considering the possibility that all preceding by-year categories should use the de facto contemporaneous name.
