A tag has been placed on Sustainable Wildlife Enterprises - Kangaroo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Pol430 talk to me 11:33, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, restoring deleted content directly back to where it was without receiving feedback from the deleting admin isn't likely going to earn you brownie points. I would suggest that you quickly userfy the article, work on it more, and then ask User:RHaworth if it then meets the requirements for re-inclusion, or if you feel he cannot do so without bias, you can always ask another editor. Cheers! Ajltalk 06:33, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, I've userfied it for you. Good luck! Ajltalk 06:55, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I noticed that your username (AWS10) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, organization, or campany (Australian Wildlife Services), and may not meet Wikipedia's username policy, but as it appears you have made constructive contributions, I strongly encourage you to create a new account with a more appropriate name. However, please keep in mind that you may have a conflict of interest. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajl772 (talkcontribs)

That wasn't actually what I understood or had in mind when I sent you the text or I'd elaborated more. Now Richard has advised you below on what to do about your account and how to help that this topic will be covered here. --Tikiwont (talk) 11:19, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Block / COI

I have blocked this account for the reasons given above. You have clocked up a fair number of edits so you may wish to use the changing user name process so that your edits are still credited to you. Also I am very disappointed to see that in the course of your edits you appear to have not learned about wikilinks (as here) and are giving naked URIs - read this.

You represent Australian Wildlife Services and for that reason I am tempted to discourage you from editing because of your COI. But I will overlook that aspect. Your latest submission, now at User:AWS10/Sustainable Wildlife Enterprises - Kangaroo definitely needs re-writing. When done, I suggest you go to this AfC page and select the "submit for review" option. The proposed title should be sustainable wildlife enterprise - there is little specifically about roos, it appears to be a generic term and we prefer the singular. — [[::User:RHaworth|RHaworth]] (talk · contribs) 08:12, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks RHaworth for your help. I am just trying to get my name changed and then will re-write and re-submit fo review. I will also change the title to what you suggest. And I will have to learn about wikilinks - i don't know how to do it yet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AWS10 (talkcontribs) 18:04, 21 March 2011

Seeing as I'm not seeing any responses that show you're actually listening, Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:08, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I will respond to some of your points on AWS's behalf.
  • I believe he has stated (below) that he understands that. ("I do not want to advertise anything related to a business - I simply want the info available to people.")
  • I believe he has sufficiently proven notability from the references contained in the article. Also, some through google searching proves that this indeeed is a notable topic.

Help

Hi there. I do understand the above and want to comply. I am very new to wikipedia relatively and new to all the codes and language. I thought I was doing the right thing? I am very down trodden by this whole experience! I explained why the article was noteable/worthy and they accepted on the proviso that I change my name and re-write substantially.

I thought they wanted me to change my name? I am so confused. I do not want to advertise anything related to a business - I simply want the info available to people.

When you say "no responses to show that I have been listening" I am not sure what I was suppose to respond too? I asked the administrator that deleted my page for help for my new draft. I have agreed to re-write. I have explained why the article is noteable. WHat else was i suppose to respond to? I am sure you have to deal with ijits like me all the time and that why you are being "stern" but I mean well.

I would love the opportunity to rewrite the article. I thought I was putting up a draft for people to check - I went through the draft wizard - I didn't know it was going to be put up on the public domain! I am so sorry. The article is well referenced - And I have put in more references since and made much shorter.

I am not even sure I am suppose to write my response here - should it be somewhere else? — Preceding unsigned comment added by AWS10 (talkcontribs) 18:03, 21 March 2011

Actually, yes, this is where your responses should be. The problem with them is that they haven't really addressed the COI issues. We could let you change your name, yes, but you still have the organizational connection. We'd like to know if you're interested in editing anything else other than the articles about things AWS does. Daniel Case (talk) 16:38, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe one day but I have no immediate plans to write anything else. I can if it will mean I am allowed to change my name. The organisational connection is only through my email. Most of the work done on my topic is completed by Universities and government funded programs. If it is too hard, maybe I can take my content elsewhere. I do not want to create a conflict of interest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AWS10 (talkcontribs) 16:12, 22 March 2011
