Spencer Smith

Early musical beginnings

Spencer Smith was born in Denver, Colorado to Ginger and Jeff Smith. He is the oldest of three with twin sisters. Spencer and his parents lived in Denver until Spencer was 3, and then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where Spencer met childhood friend and ex-band mate Ryan Ross. Their two-piece band was originally called Pet Salamander. They teamed up with Brent Wilson and another boy named Trevor on guitar to make "Summer League" before they met Brendon Urie and formed Panic! At The Disco. He left high school and finished via the internet in order to focus his full attention on the band.[1]

Career

Following their first album, Brent Wilson left the band and was replaced by Jon Walker formerly of The Academy Is.... With Walker in the band, Panic! At The Disco released their sophomore album Pretty. Odd. in 2008. In 2009, band members Ross and Walker left the band because of musical differences and formed The Young Veins, leaving Panic! At The Disco to Urie and Smith. In 2011, Panic! At The Disco released their third album, Vices & Virtues with help from Dallon Weekes of The Brobecks and Ian Crawford formerly of The Cab.
