Innovation Academy Charter School is a small but expanding charter school in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. Situated on a beautiful, pristine campus, the school is guarded by a fairly large dragon. The facility is directed by the powerful and spiritual leader, Dr. Walter Landberg, MD. He rules the school with a mighty, but gentle hand. Students often relate him to a Moses like figure due to his incredible beard and ability to part waves with his surfboard.
He has been quoted with the following statement: "In 2001, I became the school’s second Executive Director after serving as a teacher at the school [IACS], as a school director for Teach For America in Houston, Texas, and as a teacher in Oakland and Los Angeles, California. I hope you will take the time to review our website and that you will consider a visit to the school, as this is the best way to get to know our amazing community."[1]
Its track team has received national honors in its first year.
