The Democratic State Central Committee of Connecticut is the local branch of the Democratic Party in the state of Connecticut. The current state chair of the party is Nancy DiNardo, and the Vice Chair is State Representative Steve Fontana. The Democratic Party controls both chambers of the state legislature. The Democrats are led in the upper house by Senate President Don Williams and by House Speaker Chris Donovan in the House of Representatives.
Statewide Elected Officials
In 2011, the Connecticut Democratic Party will control all statewide elected offices:
- Governor: Dan Malloy
- Lieutenant Governor: Nancy Wyman
- Secretary of the State: Denise Merrill
- State Treasurer: Denise Nappier
- State Comptroller: Kevin Lembo
- Attorney General: George Jepsen
Federal Officers in the 112th Congress
U.S. Senate
Democrats control one of Connecticut's two Senate seats. The other seat is held by Joe Lieberman, who although leaving the Democratic Party in 2006, continues to caucus with the Democrats in the chamber.
