Youth Chance is an alternative high school for "at-risk" youth in San Francisco, California. The school helps disadvantaged students of all races achieve success, by teaching them the necessary academic skills to pass the GED and CHSPE (California High School Equivalency Exam). The principal is Spencer Tolliver, a career educator. It is a project of the San Francisco YMCA and is located at the Shih-yu Lang Central YMCA in San Francisco's Tenderloin district. The school is sponsored by Citibank and was sponsored by the now defunct Cal-Fed upon merger with the aforementioned. Most students pass the GED, not the CHSPE and go directly into the workforce or possibly attend San Francisco City College.
