Merrill Samual Keiser Jr., from Fremont, Ohio is a candidate for United States Senate in 2006 for the Ohio Class 1 Senate seat currently held by R. Michael DeWine. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

For a Democrat, Keiser holds several controversial positions. He is a vocal proponent of the Second Amendment, capital punishment, the War on Terror, school prayer, and Israel's right to exist. Additionally, Keiser is Pro-Life, Anti-stem cells, against teaching the Theory of Evolution, and against U.S. participation in the U.N. He has also said that he is in favor of making homosexuality a crime punishable by the death penalty.
