Alaas (Алаас) - typical of the plains of Yakutia and the Tyumen region geological formation.

Alas is elongated north-south pologosklonnuyu and flat-hollow oval shape with a diameter of up to several kilometers and a depth of 30 meters. Formed during the melting of ground ice shrinkage of the soil and rocks, suffusion, karst, etc. Alas Arathi usually covered by marshy lake and the slopes of the meadow-steppe vegetation. Alas is a self-contained habitat. Characterized by peat accumulation. Alas, dry habitats are commonly used as agricultural land.

Largest Alas - Myuryu, located in the Ust-Aldan ulus Yakutia. Its territory is situated ulus center - the village Borogontsy. In 2002, Myuryu spent 73-kilometer canal from the Lena River and filled with river water shoaled natural lake.
