The Edge of Glory is a song by American recording artist and songwriter Lady Gaga, taken from her upcoming second studio album Born This Way (2011). This song is the first promotional single for Born This Way. It will be released on May 9, 2011.

Background

On May 5, 2011, Interscope sent out an e-mail to numerous radio stations stating that "The Edge of Glory" was to be released on Monday, May 9, 2011, as the first promotional single for Born This Way. It will also serve as the first song in the "Countdown to Born This Way" promotion on the iTunes Store.[1]
