Planking is the art of lying face down with arms to the sides, in unusual public spaces and photographing it.

Planking started to gain popularity in Europe and Japan where it was known as 'the lying down game'. The term 'Planking' was coined in Australia where it became an internet sensation in 2011 on a number of internet sites. [1]
