Damon Marks

Damon Marks (born Damon Marcantuono, October 6, 1974 in Livingston, New Jersey) is an Italian American professional rock and roll guitarist, songwriter and record producer.

Biography

Damon began playing guitar at the early age of ten years old and excelled quickly. He was influenced by his father, Tony Marks who sang alongside Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. Damon's diverse musical abilities along with his aggressive business ethic has driven him forward in the music business rapidly. Today Damon is a successful Performer, Songwriter, and Recording artist who has performed with artists such as Tommy Aldridge, Marco Mendoza, Bruce Kulick, Bret Michaels, and Chris Caffery. Damon has taken such projects as the Female fronted band Lipstick Magazine from the ground up to worldwide release. Damon, co-producer for their latest release titled Skin Deep, recorded with Grammy Award winning recording engineer and Multi-platinum producer Mike Plotnikoff was distributed into Walmart, and Best Buy followed by a national tour and a performance in the Rocklahoma Festival. In early 2010 Damon played guitar for R&B recording artist Jermaine Paul opening for Alicia Keys "Freedom Tour". Damon came on to the tour and performed in such venues as Madison Square Garden, Prudential Center and Trump Taj Mahal to name a few.[1]

Philanthropy

Damon Marks is the founder of The Traveling Guitar Foundation,.[2] The Traveling Guitar Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides equipment and funding for music education programs in challenged US public school systems.The Traveling Guitar Foundation’s name derives from the “Traveler” which is a Dean Vendetta 4F donated to the foundation by Dean Guitars and then placed in the hands of famous guitarists, who play and sign them. The guitars then go out from state to state to major artists in the music industry which get signed,have pictures taken and then come back for auction.[3] This has led to on screen TV dates with WABC TV NY,NJ12 TV, WPIX CW11 Morning News, and Various radio stations such as KTU cares, Q104.3, Z100 on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, and Power 105.1 FM NYC. The board of the foundation includes Maria Milito (WAXQ DJ who was previously the announcer on Make the Grade, and is the American Idol Princess on Countdown with Keith Olbermann), The Traveling Guitar Foundation is sponsored by various companies including Line 6 who also endorses Damon Marks.
