JC Gonzalez
Juan Camilo González, better known under the stage name JC is a young Colombian actor, singer and dancer. He was born on March 08, 1990 in Bogotá, Colombia, and moved to Sugar Land, Texas in February 26, 1998. So far, he was made appearances on tv networks such as Nick, Disney, ABC, NBC, and MTV.
Early Life
Background
JC is the first of three siblings, one sister, Silvia Carolina and one brother, Daniel Eduardo and he is the son of Eva Yaneth and Gabriel Gonzalez. As a child, he was very active, playing soccer and football with friends and family. He also had a very good work ethic as a child. He was already working at ten years old, cutting grass and washing cars in his neighborhood. Every week, he would offer to help his neighbors in this way. He saved his money and when he was 15 years old he took classes to be a lifeguard and then worked as a volunteer. Gonzalez also liked to dance, and admired groups such as Menudo while growing up. While not being able to pursue dreams of being in Menudo himself, he did, however, participate in many local school bands, he also joined the school's choir in first grade where he was able to sing with his friends. After a summer of taking acting lessons with coach Chambers Stevens in Hollywood in 2006, JC decided to pursue a career in acting. In 2009, Gonzalez moved to Los Angeles, California. He speaks fluently in Spanish and English and he also knows a little French.
Education
Juan Camilo Gonzalez studied in Settlers Way Elementary School, First Colony Middle School and finished high school at Clements High school in Sugar Land, TX. JC received some acting training while performing in school plays such as Wish Upon a Mattress, Children of Eden, and Treasure Island. He decided to study at California State University, where he could also find more opportunities for acting.
Career
Early work
In 2007, at the young age of 17, Gonzales had already made his move to Los Angeles in hopes of starting his acting career. During this time, JC came across an opportunity to audition for Making Menudo and gave it a shot. The reality MTV series selected fifteen bilingual male singers after auditions and these fifteen hopefuls were coached in singing and dancing in South Beach, Miami. The show was filmed over the summer under the watchful eye of Johnny Wright, who has overseen the careers of the Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. JC failed to make the cut when he auditioned the first time. The ambitious young teen took some quick dance lessons and tried again. He auditioned a second time in Dallas, and was selected as one of the fifteen contestants to be filmed on the series Road to Menudo. JC left the show when they were seven in the 10th episode. However, he had a great experience and received the best voice training from David Coury.
2009 – Present
Since his experience with Making Menudo, GonzaleZ has had roles in prominent television shows such as, Parks and Recreation, Parenthood, and Victorious. Also, he has been featured in and has small roles in other features such as commercials and musics videos. Kaya’s music video, “Can’t get you out of my mind” was one such feature. He has also been
Upcoming roles
JC GonzaleZs stars in a new upcoming series, Los Americans on pic.tv. Los Americans is the story of a modern, affluent, suburban Mexican-American family living in the United States, and was released on May 26, 2011.
