Welcome Interstate Managers is an album by Fountains of Wayne. It was released on June 10, 2003. The album's title was taken from a hotel marquee sign. The album includes the hit song "Stacy's Mom", which garnered significant airplay in 2003. "Mexican Wine" was the second single. The record label then promoted "Hey Julie", but the track did not match the chart success of "Stacy's Mom".
The ballad "All Kinds of Time", which describes a football quarterback executing a textbook-perfect play in slow-motion, was used by the NFL in a promotional video that first aired during the 2004 season. This song was also used in the Season 4 episode of Scrubs, "My Ocardial Infarction," which first aired on January 18, 2005, and the Season 1 episode of One Tree Hill, "Spirit in the Night". The song "Hey Julie" was also used in another episode of Scrubs, "My Half-Acre."
In December 2008, "Valley Winter Song" was used in an L.L.Bean commercial.
In 2009, Katy Perry performed a cover of "Hackensack" on MTV Unplugged.
In 2011, The Wonder Years did a cover of "Hey Julie" for the charity compilation album Vs. The Earthquake for earthquake and tsunami in Japan
