The MetroCentre is Europe's largest shopping precinct in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.

There is also a National Rail station at Metrocentre and a local interchange station for other modes of transport. Regular train services run to Newcastle Upon Tyne, Sunderland, Hexham, and Carlisle with a twice daily service to Dumfries in Scotland.
