Eric Matheny

Eric Matheny is an actor, screenwriter and co-founder of The Acting Center LA.[1]

Raised in Los Angeles and Atlanta, Matheny started his career as a child actor appearing in national television commercials. As a teenager, he landed a starring role opposite Roger Mosely[2] in the Southern Emmy Award-winning ABC Movie of the Week, Run Down The Rabbit. He appeared opposite Jeanne Tripplehorn[3] in the ABC Movie of The Week A Perfect Tribute[4].

Matheny plays opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the Clint Eastwood film J. Edgar playing J. Edgar Hoover's physician, Dr. Ferguson.[5]

Eric starred opposite Pauly Perrette[6] in a recurring role on the Fox's Jennifer Love Hewitt series Time of Your Life, playing Pauly's love interest.

Matheny has guest starred on numerous prime time hit shows including CSI,[7] Without a Trace,[8] Buffy the Vampire Slayer[9] and many more.[10]

Director Betty Thomas (Dr. Dolittle, Desperados) cast Eric Matheny as the lead in her Fox pilot That Guy.[11]

Matheny has appeared in hundreds of commercials for national brands[citation needed] including a series of spots and a SuperBowl spot for Bud Light, Gillette ProGlide Fusion,[12] NFL Fantasy Football[13] , H&R Block, AT&T, DirecTV, and Office Depot.

Screenwriter

Eric Matheny, Isa Totah and Will Potter write America, a coming of age story about an Arab-American. Oscar-winning producer Mark Johnson (Chronicles of Narnia, Rain Man) is producing.[14][15] Focus Features (the indie arm of Universal Studios) buys America.
