Requested move

Matej HocevarMatej Hočevar – Correct spelling; not able to move myself because a redirect exists from the target name. — Yerpo Eh? 16:01, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose move: This is the English Wikipedia, and according to the policy of WP:COMMONNAME and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English), a biographical article does not use the subject's name as it might be spelled in Slovanian (with diacritics) as its article title, nor does it use the person's legal name as it might appear on a birth certificate or passport; it instead uses the name that is most frequently used to refer to the subject in English-language reliable sources. Simply put, the use of "Matej Hocevar" is verified by the sources used within the article, and "Matej Hočevar" is not supported by the sources used as references for the article. • Oppose all the current external links and single reference use the current spelling "Matej Hocevar" without accents. You haven't provided any reliable sources to show that your assertion is true, further you haven't shown your proposed spelling is used in English. 65.94.44.141 (talk) 05:12, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, no valid rationale has been given for the move, and I note with some misgivings that it appears to have been carried out [1] regardless. Andrewa (talk) 08:30, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
