Round Lake High School, officially Round Lake Senior High School, and commonly RLHS, is a public four-year high school located in Round Lake, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Round Lake Area Schools District 116.
History
In 1994 the Round Lake School Strike lasted for six weeks making it one of the longest teacher strike in Illinois history [1].
Academics
In 2003, Round Lake High School had an average composite ACT score of 19, and graduated 95.3% of its senior class. The average class size is 22.3.[2]

Students electing to take courses at the Tech Campus receive academic credit at the high school toward graduation.

Administration
The administrative organization of the school consists of one principal and four assistant principals, each serving in a different capacity.
The Building Principal oversees all elements of the school, and liaises to the district office. The Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction focuses on the coherence and cohesion of the academic curricula of the school. There are two Assistant Principal/Dean positions, each of which serve as student disciplinarians as well as building administrators supervising academic intervention and behavior intervention protocols and procedures. The Assistant Principal/Athletic Director coordinates the athletics and activities of the school, as well as the overall schedule for the physical building.
Each administrator is also responsible for a number of staff evaluations throughout the school year, in accordance with the EARL contract.
