Oneilland East
Oneilland East (from Template:Lang-ga, the name of an ancient Gaelic territory)[1][2] is a barony in County Armagh, Northern Ireland.[3] It lies to the far north-east of the county on the south-eastern shoreline of Lough Neagh and the north-western boundary of County Down. It is bordered by three other baronies: Oneilland West to the west; Iveagh Lower, Lower Half to the east; and Orior Lower to the south.[3]
Carrickblacker
Carrickblacker house is located in Oneilland East,[4] and is the home of the Blacker family.[5] The Blacker family are claimed as being descended from the Viking Blacar, who was a King of Dublin.[5] On 26 February 943, Blacar defeated Muirchertach mac Néill and his army, near Armagh, allegedly by the River Bann where Carrickblacker now stands.[5]
