iGeneration is a pejorative (due to associations of the iPod with spoiled and aloof people) term used to describe the generation born primarily in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The name is based on the popular iPod music device. The term was popularised by MC Lars in his song "iGeneration", which was made into a music video. The iGeneration, full name internet generation is a subgeneration for the later half of Generation Y (1982-2000).

The term is a relatively new one, and is nowhere near as widely used as similar tags for previous generations, the most well-known of which is arguably Generation X's MTV Generation.

Other terms that have been used in conjunction with this generation include:

  • MySpace Generation
  • Generation xXx (based on the use of the letter 'x' in the emo subculture)

The demographic term refers to a group of people who spent their formative years in an age of the birth and rise of the Internet. It is too early to publish an adequate article about this generation.
