Species doesn't seem to exist. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 01:56, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Response

This turtle still exists in the Cuatro Ciénegas Basin in the state of Coahuila, México. However, its scientific and common names have been changed. This species is now considered Apalone spinifera atra, a subspecies of Apalone spinifera. Note that because Trionyx was masculine and Apalone is feminine, specific and/or subspecific names to agree in gender must be changed from spinifer and ater to spinifera and atra. Also the common name seems to have been changed to "Black spiny softshell" according to the spiny softshell turtle WP article. I will try to xref and edit these articles to make them compatible (as much as my limited computer skills allow).74.109.236.194 (talk) 14:42, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
