36 Norwegian road signs

Description: 36 small images of Norwegian road signs. They are individually appropriately named.

URL: Download .zip (CRC32 in filename)

License: Public Domain {{PD-author}}

Link To License Information: Statens vegvesen

In Norwegian: “Alle skiltene kan lastes ned i ulike filformat, til bruk for bl.a. illustrasjoner og trykksaker. Filene kan fritt brukes til slike formål.” Translation: “All signs can be downloaded in different file formats and be used for e.g. illustrations and print jobs. They may be used freely for these purposes.”

Author/Copyright Holder's Name: Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens vegvesen)

Article To Be Used On/Reason For Upload: Road signs in Norway. Most of the road signs were uploaded by Pjacklam a while ago, but as I recently expanded the English article a few signs seemed to be missing. It turns out that these EPS files do not convert well to SVG, so Pjacklam probably skipped them. I converted the available BMP files to PNG for compression purposes.

Only the file “Norwegian-road-sign-792.31.png” was created entirely by me, as no decent digital image of that sign seems to exist. Its proportions may be slightly off as it was a speedy job, but it represents the original sign well. It's not bad, but I thought it should be mentioned to avoid people reusing it as a 100% accurate representation.

EMAG magazine

Description: A 30-round Magpul EMAG magazine.

Troops fighting in Afghanistan are now using new, lightweight see-through magazines for the SA80 rifle, further reducing the weight of their kit, the MOD announced today.

Made from a lightweight plastic, the 30-round Magpul EMAG magazine is around half the weight of a standard metal magazine, yet even more robust. More than 100,000 have already been delivered to troops on operations and in total over a million will be sent to Afghanistan under the four year, £13 million contract with Hereford-based distributors Level Peaks Associations.

A clear window in the magazine allows troops to easily monitor how much ammunition they have left, helping them ensure they have sufficient levels at critical points in battle.

The EMAG’s durability is further enhanced by an easily detachable cover to help protect against dust and sand while the magazine is being carried – meaning fewer need replacing.

This guide is significantly different from other food pyramids in that it uses individual blocks to represent servings, and an illustration of another food pyramid would not be very helpful in trying to visualize how this one works. Article To Be Used On/Reason For Upload: List of nutrition guides. This image was previously approved, but was auto-deleted after getting orphaned. To reduce clutter and the use of non-free images, I'm restricting my uploads only to nutrition guides that are significantly different from, and not well represented by, images of other guides. This guide is one of many food plates/wheels/circles that are divided like a pie chart and illustrated with food images. I'm choosing this one to represent them all because the United Kingdom is the country with the most Wikipedia traffic that currently uses such a guide. Thank you!

Article To Be Used On/Reason For Upload: List of nutrition guides. To reduce clutter and the use of non-free images, I'm restricting my uploads only to nutrition guides that are significantly different from, and not well represented by, images of other guides. This one guide will represent all non-governmental guides because it is the most notable and widely distributed. In hunting down all other food guides, this is the only non-governmental guide I kept finding discussed in multiple countries and languages (I can provide cites if needed). It was developed by Walter Willett, the second-most cited author in clinical medicine. Also, the copyright notice says it can be "used without permission for educational and other non-commercial uses," indicating its promotional purpose. Thank you!
