Navvaari sari is a Sari style that uses 8 metres (8.7 yd) of fabric. ("Nav" meaning nine and "vaar" meaning yard.) It is popular in Maharashtra.

The sari is draped like a dhoti. The ends are wrapped around the legs. The right side of the sari is drawn into pleats and tucked into the center of the back, thus making 10-12 pleats. The left side of the sari, that was drawn up between the legs, is brought around and draped as a pallu over the bosom. Thus it forms a kind of divided sari, allowing greater freedom of movement.

Although it was a traditional dress of maharashtrian women, in older times. Nowadays, it has become a fashion, to wear Navvari Sari, on the occasion like Hindu New Year - Gudi Padwa. And most of the times, when women's going for the worship of Banayan Tree at the time of Wat Purnima and for the worship of Holi, they prefer to wear Navvari saari. As practically the problem of wearing this sari is travelling, so it is not preferred.
