"Beat of My Heart" is a song written and produced by American singer Hilary Duff, Joel Madden and Benji Madden for Duff's third album, Most Wanted, and is the second single to be released from the album.

The music video for the single was shot in Los Angeles, California by Phil Harder, and pays homage to Bond girls (see James Bond). The music is avalible in iTunes for $.99 and the music video cost $1.99. The music video of it premiered on television on MTV's Total Request Live on November 9 2005. It entered the TRL countdown at number three, making it Duff's highest debut on the show, and had ascended to number one by November 14 2005. The video also received "High Rotation" status on Much Music, which means that that video is one that will be played a lot, and will get heavy rotation on the channel.

Duff performed this single live at the 2005 American Music Awards. It was her first live performance of the single, as well it helped boost the sales of Most Wanted. Most Wanted jumped back up from 52, to 48, to 32. The single also entered the AOL Countdown this week at #11.

Chart History

The song has reached number 1 in countries like Singapore, China, Japan and India. Hilary will soon be working on a Beat Of My Heart World Tour which is expected to hit Europe, Asia and Australia. The song currently is certified Gold (sold 100,000 units) by RIAA. Following the lead of most of Hilary's songs, Beat of My Heart failed to succeed in the US.

Video

The video is about Hilary paying homage to the Bond Girls. It shows Hilary in olden time Silhouettes and in newer visual effects. According to MTV, it is one of the most creative videos of 2005. When it debuted at Number 3 on MTV's TRL, people expected it to reach retirement. The video received Heavy Promotion by MTV Asia, making it the 11th most popular video of 2005 in Asia. It straight away hit number one on MTV Asia Video Charts like Chart Attack. It is nominated for a VMA in 2006 making it the 5th Duff Video to do so. The Video also hit number one in MTV Europe where people consider it to be a Hot Fave. The video got Heavy Promotion in South America this time from the likes of Radio where it entered the Brazilian Radio Chart (BRC) at number 2, making it the 3rd highest debut ever. In Australia, the song peaked at 13, which many call an accomplishment but which pales in comparison to earlier songs like "Wake Up" and "So Yesterday". The video received Platinum status by the Video Association of America (VAA). It sold close to 3 Million in Asia alone. In all, the video was definitely a hit worldwide even if the Song isn't. It was received well in Asia, where it hit Number one in 3/4 of the Current Charts. It also held its place at number one for 11 weeks running at the International Airplay Chart (IAC).
