Cascada (born Natalie Horler, September 23, 1981 in Bonn, Germany) was raised in Germany by English parents. Cascada (formerly known as Cascade) is recognized around the world as the trio behind the hit songs "Miracle" and "Everytime We Touch" Cascada has worked on many projects for DJ Manian and a 2 Vibez song produced by Bass-T entitled "Sometimes". Natalie possesses a dramatic, and breathtaking voice that she applies to all of her work. Also part of the act are the two DJ/producers Yanou and DJ Manian. Those two create the beats and melodies that power their tracks. The original project name, "Cascade" was changed due to legal conflicts, and soon changed to "Cascada". The name "Cascade" can be found on some older CDs and records put out by the group, namely the first editions of their hit song "Miracle", but this error was soon corrected. The original versions are now out of stock and production, and may very well be considered a piece of history in the long run.
Cascada's work includes "Miracle", "Bad Boy", "Everytime We Touch", "How Do You Do!", and countless remixes. The newest single, released on November 19, 2005, is called "How Do You Do!", a cover of the 1992 Roxette song of the same name. It has been highly anticipated, and has so far had great sales of the vinyl and CD-single. Thanks to the success of "Everytime We Touch" a North American release of "Bad Boy" will follow it.
In December 2005 Cascada released a cover of Maggie Reilly's "Everytime We Touch." On February 4th, 2006 the song entered the Top 40 on Billboard's official chart at #36, ironically the same position D.H.T.'s "Listen To Your Heart" debuted and then moved up to #32 in its second week on the Top 40 and to #27 in its third...with its bullet back in its fourth week in the top 40 the song bolted up to #19, but then slowed down the fifth week only rising to #16. In between this time and its sixth week on top 40, 'Touch' sold 57,000 digital downloads - a 65% increase which propelled the song into the top 10 at #10, officially making it a 'Smash Hit.'The song is in its eleventh week on the Billboard Hot 100. It was the Hot Shot debut in its first week at #86 and climbed to #62 in its second week (a massive jump for a pop song). In its third week the song jumped all the way to #55 and moved up to #53 in its fourth week. In its fifth week the song fell to #56 but in its sixth week it bounced back, making #49. The song climbed up to #45 in its seventh week and debuted in the Top 40 chart at #36 in its eighth week, for the first issue of the month of February in the calendar year 2006. The song is moving very fast up the chart and will definitely be a top 10 hit of 2006 for Robbins Entertainment (following DJ Sammy's "Heaven" and D.H.T.'s "Listen To Your Heart"). Cascada is expected to release a full album entitled Everytime We Touch on February 21st. 2006, along with the Tune Up! album, both projects of DJ Manian.
The followup to "Everytime We Touch" will be "A Neverending Dream," as annnounced by DJ Manian on his official website.
DJ Manian has informed fans that the next Cascada single will be done in Alex Megane remix contest style, with the samples being given out to fans to remix, and the best producer being published on the CDM and vinyl.
Robbins ENT has stated that they are excited by the success of this single without a ballad version to carry it on radio: they expect that the song will become their biggest selling and best selling album.
Cascada's new music video for "Everytime We Touch" can be seen at their record label's web site, http://www.robbinsent.com. The music video depicts Natalie Horler in a library trying to loosen up her uptight work-aholic boyfriend, who is the librarian. At first Natalie creates quite a mess and ruccuss in the library and causes distress among many of its readers, who eventually join Natalie and start to dance on top of tables. The music video was released in February 2006.
Something especially noteworthy of Cascada is the fact that, unlike DJ Sammy and D.H.T., they were able to have a SMASH top 40 hit without a radio ballad version of their song. Although DJ Yanou did mix a ballad track as a bonus for the album, it was never released to radio...giving Cascada the full credability of a dance/trance act...and really helping to 'cross-over' dance to a mainstream audience.
