Q (Street Fighter)
Appearance
Q is a video game character from the Street Fighter fighting game series.
Not much is known about Q. He makes metallic sounds when he's struck, but he seems to be human and breathes hard and deeply, much like Darth Vader of Star Wars. The C.I.A. is after him, but they aren't even sure if Q truly exists, or whether he is only one person.
While Q is a playable character in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, he is a hidden fighter during exhibition mode.
Appearance
Q is a tall mysterious figure with a trenchcoat, a fedora, brown pants, black shoes and an iron mask.
Q's Identity
While the true origin and nature of Q is unknown, many fans have developed theories on who Q is and where he came from.
- There has been speculation that Q is none other than Balrog, the boxer who worked for the criminal organization Shadoloo. The circumstantial evidence to support this theory is that Q witnessed the fall of Shadoloo. When Shadoloo's original leader M. Bison was killed, Balrog took over and almost immediately ran it into the ground. Also, Q has a number of powerful punch attacks, and some of his attacks closely resemble those of Balrog. However, the chances of Q actually being Balrog seem unlikely, due to the fact that the visible skin on Q's neck is Caucasian; Balrog was an African American. Still, this cannot be ruled out, as in the original Street Fighter, Birdie was Caucasian, only to reappear in Street Fighter Alpha with African features.
- Another strange enigma is Q's insides. When he is hit with a lightning-based attack, his skeletal system is supposed to be shown, but all that is shown is a muscular system and a metallic, non-detailed head. This leads some to believe that he could be robotic, possibly a cyborg.
- There are also theories stating that Q is a man in his own ending, the black commissioner wearing a red tie and white dress shirt. The evidence supporting this is that the lone patch of exposed skin under Q's mask matches the complexion of the man, their ties and shirts match, and after the two other people are seen exiting the room, leaving the man alone, Q's silhouette is seen dashing in front of the projection screen.
