I don't know why the article was deleted - I'm guessing lack of notability. I don't know if I'm using the right process to find out - any help would be appreciated. I'm not yet contesting the deletion - I don't even have any information about why it was done, so I wouldn't presume to contest the reasoning. -Bobagem (talk) 19:59, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

It's actually quite easy to find out why it was deleted. The title of the article above is red, which shows that the article does not exist. However if you click on that "redlink" and the article did once exist, you will see the deletion log which shows who deleted it, when and why. In this case it gives a reference to a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adriana Mugnatto-Hamu. The reference to WP:POLITICIAN there is to a policy which says that (to discourage use of Wikipedia as an election campaign platform), merely being an unelected candidate for political office does not confer notability. If you want to pursue this, you should first approach user Cirt (talk), the administrator who closed the discussion; then, if you are not satisfied, you can go to WP:Deletion review. Over-zealous editor removing an article on a prolific voice actor. I mean come on - look at the sheer number of pages that link to him - even from other wikis that cover his roles! -203.122.219.202 (talk) 00:43, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Other wikis are not reliable sources; neither is the IMDb, nor his own websites. Oh, look: that seems to eliminate all the "sources"! --Orange Mike | Talk 00:56, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
I'll also add that this was an unsourced BLP. I'm usually the first to argue that contested PRODs should be restored without any hassle but in cases like this it's better to leave it deleted but allow any editor to write a new sourced article. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 02:43, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

CreditLoan.com

The article was deleted on the basis of G11. Unambiguous advertising or promotion; however the criteria states that "An article about a company or a product which describes its subject from a neutral point of view does not qualify for this criterion." The article on CreditLoan is neutral. No negative information was available or it would have been included. The article explains what the website is, and who is behind it. It is a high traffic site, with a large number of financial articles, and is described and referenced in the Wikipedia article, but no recommendations or suggestions of patronage are made. Please reconsider and undelete. -RiverWriter (talk) 02:53, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

PSY (Korean Hip Hop Singer)

Psy is a legendary singer in Korea and deserves a Wikipedia page. The issue was "Expired PROD, concern was: no third party sources to indicate notability". Not sure what that means, but he is definitely a "notable" person. Ask any Korean =P — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.53.199.60 (talkcontribs)

Not done Though deleted by PROD this was an unsourced BLP. However, any editor with an account is free to create a new sourced article on this subject. I'll also be happy to incubate this article upon request. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 04:08, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Some of the content was from other sub-pages of the site, does the ticket cover that as well? January (talk) 20:50, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Done, removed content from other sub-pages in the meantime. January (talk) 21:02, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Even if they are cleared, it might be better not to add back the other sections, which could well get it speedied G11, being all first-person and peacock terms: "We are proud of our TerraLex relationship and the global resources it brings to all of our clients.... dedicated to providing a quick response to clients' needs... innovative solutions... ongoing and immediate benefit to clients of our firm..." JohnCD (talk) 21:46, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
My statement that "all content under" may have been ambiguous, so to clarify, that page and all subpages. – Adrignola talk 20:56, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Indian media bias in politics

In India News groups are in business houses hands . Business houses area alaways foucs on their interst. Also this is a big story in past how business houses are beneifited by Indian Govt. So news/ media can be biased or in favour of Govt as all business in india has deep influnce/controll from Govt.

As a Citinizen of India I feel we should know all information arround such topic. I would request you to open this link

Regards Indian -134.159.168.104 (talk) 07:00, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Not done - a deleted page with this name does not appear to exist. Redirects to Media bias in India, no previous article in the history or logs. Target has been proposed for deletion but is not yet deleted, if this is the article you meant please see WP:PROD for the instructions for responding to a proposed deletion. January (talk) 13:20, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Since the article had previously been discussed at AFD and also considering this "misplaced" challenge. I went ahead and removed the PROD. However, this won't prevent someone from taking it to AFD if they wish. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 14:17, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

I could not find much information in the deletion log other than "blatant advertising." That can easily be remedied and I would like to look at the original material and get this article re-published, informatively. Information can be added - I see no reason for the article to be deleted without a chance to revise it. Thanks. -Checkn2cash (talk) 12:50, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

The original material contained canned marketing phrases like "As a leader in the payday lending industry, the company offers small, short-term loans...". No independent sources or any sourcing of any kind to verify the claims. Written by the company, (your account name does seem to have a conflict of interest), I would suggest you read the Business FAQ first to understand our policies. -- Alexf(talk) 13:22, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

  • The image proposed is used in a gallery, normally not allowed, can you supply a reason why it should be used, rather than a description of what it says with a reference? Also the image was over 1000 pixels high, as need to make the text of a newspaper page readable, but this would be too large for a fair use. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:30, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
If you think the image should remain deleted for reasons other than the one for which it was deleted, that's OK with me. (As for adding a description of what it says to the article, I obviously have no objection to that, but I can't do it myself, because I don't know what it says.) --Zundark (talk) 12:04, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Not done This could just as easily have been deleted as a G11 for its promotional tone. This is a brand-new company which hasn't even issued any product yet; the author seems to feel that reflected importance of a city, an executive, etc. is sufficient to make up for a complete lack of any asserted notability of the subject itself. --Orange Mike | Talk 23:15, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Kay Kristin Boutilier

The article was deleted under A7 and G11 criteria if I remember correctly. As the author, I felt as though neither of these reasons were valid and had been performing edits to ensure, for example, that there was nothing that could be taken as advertising or promotion of any particular group or entity. The article was well referenced and unbiased. The article was about a musician and under the criteria listed in the wikipedia guide as to the relevance of musicians/bands/singers, the subject met multiple of the suggested reasons for being included in wikipedia. I believe that the article was not only deleted without justification, but also before edits/discussion was complete- which should have been obvious by examination of the talk section for the article, in which a discussion on numerous points was being had with the person who had tagged it for speedy deletion to begin with. As the contributor of the article, I think it was deleted without proper review and would appreciate its restoration. Finally, a point that was brought up in the talk was that it was a possible COI, however, I would like to assure that this was not the case. Thank you for the time. -Wiki86420 (talk) 02:19, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Reading Cloggies

reasoning -ChrisJBrady (talk) 09:15, 19 June 2011 (UTC) This page was deleted DESPITE the Talk feature requsting that this not be done. Further - there was no communication from the administrators saying that this would happen. i am not going to waste my life creating pages only to have them arrogantly deleted by self-appointed administrations who know nothing about the subject AND who don't have the courtesy to communicate with the authors they hack and delete. Never again.

Not done. Administrators are not "self-appointed" - they are appointed by the community after a fairly tough grilling and a selection process that lasts a week, and they work to standards agreed by the community. You were notified on your talk page that the article had been tagged for speedy deletion; the notice gave the reasons and relevant links, and it also explained that an article which meets the criteria for speedy deletion, in this case WP:CSD#A7, may be deleted without delay. If you click on the "redlink" to the article, you will see the deletion log which will tell you that the article was deleted by user Nyttend (talk), and he is the person you should approach if you want to proceed. First, read Wikipedia:Your first article and consider whether you can show significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources to meet Wikipedia's notability requirement; if so, ask Nyttend (perhaps more politely than this request?) to userfy the article - copy it into a user sub-page - for you to work on. JCI Bangladesh

It is not a advertise rather share the activities about active citizenship which the organization is pursuing for the betterment of the community -Mahibekram (talk) 10:04, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Not done. The first few versions of your article were too promotional; also, they were copied from your website, which is not allowed unless a formal copyright release has been made. The last version was not promotional, but it still did not give any reason why the organisation was important or significant enough to have an encyclopedia article. In Wikipedia terms, that's called notability, and is not a matter of opinion: it has to be demonstrated by showing significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. The test is, have people independent of the organization thought it important enough to write substantial comment about? More advice on your talk page soon. JohnCD (talk) 18:16, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Amaranthe

I believe this band meets Wikipedia notability criteria. There are four pages in different projects (check the Swedish page), the band has two independently notable musicians (Olof Mörck and Elize Ryd), their first album charted in at least two countries's national music chart (check this reference) and the band has been the subject of multiple published works appearing in sources that are reliable and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself (check the Portuguese page). If necessary I help to improve the page. Thank you for your consideration. 189.74.193.181 (talk) 04:32, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
