Eugenio Novo Neira alias Uxío Novoneyra (b. Parada de Moreda, Courel, 19 January 1930-d. Santiago de Compostela, 30 October 1999) was a poet and a Children's book writer from Galicia.

He was the son of a family of farmers. He started writing poems while he studied Secondary Education in Lugo. Then he moved to Madrid to study Philosophy and Literature. In 1951, he came back to Galicia and started his publications in Galician language. In 1962, he went back to Madrid again and worked in radio and TV programmes. In 1973, he married Elva Rey , they had three children. In 1983 he went definitely to Santiago de Compostela where he worked for the Writers in Galego Language Association until he died in 1999. In his works, he expresses his nationalist and Marxist interests without ignoring the poetic patterns.
