I am using the IP address of a shared network, the NUS Computer Center, and I did nothing wrong, yet I was blocked. I request unblocking. Freywa (talk) 3:31 pm, Today (UTC+8)

I've unblocked the IP, it doesn't seem to be an open proxy. Closedmouth (talk) 07:50, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

I told that person off
I saw what Oyashi77 did to your user page and I've told him off. I was angry when I saw what he did. BTW, I have Aspergers too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aspietoo (talk • contribs) 10:22, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure I agree with removing the section headers. Right now the section looks like a large chunk of unorganized text. While the subsections prior to your edit were short, the existence of subsection headers provided focus and impetus for further edits. If there should be fewer section headers, we should start with a general comment, then binary compounds (see Greenwood & Earnshaw), then coordination & organometallic compounds, followed by other things like Cu(III) which are rare. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 16:46, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Can you clarify what you mean by redundant? You've done good work on that article, but I'm concerned that you might be past trimming fat, and getting to muscle and bone. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 07:16, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
- The article has information that is unnecessary for readers; that is the redundant information. The stuff on comproportionation and Cadiot-Chodkiewicz couplings are unnecessary details that add no useful information. Criterion 4 of the FA criteria says: "It (the article) stays focused on the main topic without going into unnecessary detail." True for this. (Where's the barnstar?) FREYWA 07:29, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
The Cadiot-Chodkiewicz coupling and the related Cu-alkyne reactions are historically significant. It also gives the major side-product when you run a Sonogashira reaction. Not all metals comproportionate with their salts. I think it is worthy of mention here. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 14:33, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
- They've been added back. Now find some references. FREYWA 02:09, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Astatine picture
At WT:ELEM you stated that the Guinness World Records 2008 book had a picture of astatine as a black solid. Do you have the book?? If so, could you scan the picture and upload?? We'd all appreciate it very much... Lanthanum-138 (talk) 07:36, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

- Excuse me, if it is in such a widely sold book, why can't it be astatine? The authorities at GWR have checked the pic throughly and if they say it is At, it is. FREYWA 10:52, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- The image matches that fake pic (Materialscientist) agrees. The size is telling...no one has had that much astatine! (I think that amount would melt the ampule, if it were pure At.) Ve...ry...worrying. Anyway, it's not like it will be deleted immediately; there's a week for it to be on hold. I hope you don't feel bitten about this. Lanthanum-138 (talk) 11:31, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

I don't think Alchemist-hp would have At at his disposal, besides, he may make great pictures for WP, but I don't think he wants to compromise his own safety. :-) Not everyone has an alpha particle gun, I'm not sure if he can gain access to one, but regardless, good luck if he tries to get an At picture! GOCE drive update
Guild of Copy Editors May 2011 backlog elimination drive update
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors May 2011 Backlog elimination drive! Here is your mid-drive newsletter.
So far, 54 people have signed up for the drive, and 33 are actively participating. If you signed up for the drive but have not participated yet, it's not too late! Try to copy edit at least a few articles. Remember, if you have rollover words from the last drive, you will lose them if you do not participate in this drive. If you have not signed up for the drive yet, you can sign up now. If you have questions about getting started, feel free to talk to us. Many thanks to those editors who have been helping out at the Requests page. We currently have 17 articles awaiting edit.
We are making slow progress on achieving our target of reducing the overall backlog by 15%; in order to accomplish this goal we will need to complete about 400 more articles. However, we are making good progress on the 2009 backlog, as we have eliminated over half of the articles from 2009 that were present at the start of the drive. Let's concentrate our fire power on the remaining months from 2009; leaderboard awards will be handed out for 2009 articles this drive. Thank you for participating in the May 2011 drive. We hope it will be another success! Your drive coordinators – S Masters (talk), Diannaa (Talk), Tea with toast, Chaosdruid, and Torchiest |

Guild of Copy Editors May 2011 backlog elimination drive report
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors May 2011 Backlog elimination drive. Thank you for participating!
There were 63 signups for the drive; of these, 45 participated. Although we did not award a bonus for articles from the Requests page this drive, we are not experiencing lengthy delays in getting the articles processed. Many thanks to editors who have been helping out at the Requests page and by copy editing articles from the backlog.
During the month of May we reduced the backlog by approximately 10%, and made remarkable progress on eliminating articles tagged from 2009. There are now only 15 articles left, down from the 415 that were present when the drive started. Since our backlog drives began in May 2010 with 8,323 articles, we have cleared more than 54% of the backlog. A complete list of results and barnstars awarded can be found here. Barnstars will be distributed over the next week. If you enjoyed participating in our event, you may also like to join the Wikification drives, which are held on alternate months to our drives. Their June drive has started.
The six-month term for our first tranche of Guild coordinators will be expiring at the end of June. We will be accepting nominations for the second tranche of coordinators, who will also serve a six-month term. Nominations will open starting on June 5. For complete information, please have a look at the election page. Please feel free to contact any coordinator if you have any questions or need assistance. Your project coordinators are S Masters (talk), Diannaa (Talk), Tea with toast (Talk), Chaosdruid (talk), and Torchiest (talk). |

WP Elements in the Signpost
"WikiProject Report" would like to focus on WikiProject Elements for a Signpost article. This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the project. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Other editors will also have an opportunity to respond to the interview questions. If you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Have a great day. -Mabeenot (talk) 17:45, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for participating in the interview. The overwhelming response shows the excitement and dedication of the members at WikiProject Elements. I had to trim some of the interview to make it a little more manageable and to reduce redundancy. The responses to the first question and the "anything else" question were used in writing introductions for each member. I also cut an unneeded question. Please take a look at the revised interview to make sure I haven't inadvertently changed the tone or character of your response. Also check to make sure I've used the correct pronouns when referring to you. None of these changes are set in stone and we still have plenty of time until publication in which we can tweak things. Pictures and a sidebar will be added closer to the publication date. Cheers! -Mabeenot (talk) 01:54, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Inline external links on Fluorine
Hey man, I put those external links inline on purpose. I think it looks like junk to have that stuff floating off to the right side and have a different appearance for some links from others. (Oh...and you didn't save any space, are actually taking more space now. Besides, I think an in order list is a lot cleaner than stuff floating. And at the bottom like that, the space concern is not so big...besides if you really want it clean and tight, do two columns, not combining different-side justified links.) I'm not going to edit war you (it's stupid, gotta fix the chemistry first). Just get this. That was done that way ON PURPOSE, not as a mistake. See also painted turtle.
