Eight Views of Korea

The Eight Views of Korea are a collection of the beautiful scenery of Korea, that are known today and that have been defined in the past.
They were defined after the Eight Views of Xiaoxiang of the Song Dynasty of China.
General
The Eight Views of Korea are a collection of the beautiful scenery of Korea, that are now understood to be as follows: [1]
- Baekdu Mountain (Hangeul:백두산, Hanja: 白頭山) and Heaven Lake (천지, 天池)
- Yalu River (압록강, 鴨緑江)
- Kŭmgangsan (금강산, 金剛山)
- Pujon Highland (부전고원, 赴戰高原}
- Moran Hill (모란봉, 牡丹峰), Pyongyang
There were also the Eight Views of Korea that were defined during Japan's annexation of Korea by the Railways Ministry in 1928, mainly to promote the tourism by railways:
- Haeundae Beach (해운대 해수욕장, 海雲臺海水浴場)
- Songnisan (속리산, 俗離山)
- Moran Hill (한라산, 牡丹峰), Pyongyang
These Eight Views were sung in a popular song called "the Song of the Eight Views of Korea". They were also known by the paintings by Kawase Hasui, completed in 1939.
