Gilberto Amaury de Godoy Filho, known as Giba (born 23 December 1976 in Londrina), is a Brazilian professional volleyball player. He is widely regarded the best volleyball player of all time.

Born in Londrina, but raised in Curitiba, Giba is known for passing through many adversities in life - he had leukemia when he was a baby, injured his arm badly as a child and he was suspended for some time in 2002.

He played his first game for Pinheiros on 1 September 2009.[1]

Personal life

He is married with the former Romanian international volleyball player, Cristina Pîrv. They have two kids together: one daughter Nicoll and one son Patrick.[2][3]
