I moved your article Alexanderholborne to Alexander Holborne. Cool article, thanks.Arminius 00:02, 5 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. You're filling in some age of sail material of interest to me! A couple notes: we don't add people's job titles to article titles because more links from elsewhere work that way; also we italicize ship names. It's a little more work because you have to do pipe trick and make sure the "HMS" is not in itals, but the result looks better for readers. Stan 05:32, 5 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Hello Again, this time regarding Airports

Hey Faedra,

I invite you to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Airports. Also, the current categorization scheme, created by me and certainly flexible, is to categorize each airport under Category: Airports of (country). Thus Manston Airport, which you created in under Category:Airports of the United Kingdom. Cheers. Burgundavia 07:13, Jun 9, 2004 (UTC)

Hello, Faedra, I like your user name. To avoid other people (like me) carrying out wholesale editing of your articles, you might like to consider the following actions:

  1. Check members of the Dudley family buying houses in years they weren't alive.
  1. Look at the relevant pages to find out wikipedia standards on topics such as article naming. This will save you from committing solecisms such as "John, 3rd lord Dudley" instead of "John Sutton, 3rd Baron Dudley".

Remember that the point is for would-be readers to be able to find an article easily.

  1. Start your articles by saying what they are about, instead of beginning with a preamble.
  1. Run everything through a spell-checker before you put it on the page.
  1. Use the "History" and "Talk" pages to keep in touch with what amendments are being made and why.

Hope you take these pieces of advice kindly and are not frightened off. Deb 18:02, 12 Jun 2004 (UTC)

That'll not last long there - you need to move it to User:Faedra/profile or suchlike. Charles Matthews 12:34, 25 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I moved it to User:Faedra/Personal profile of contributor Faedra, so now you have two. List the one you don't want on speedy deletions. Dunc_Harris| 12:46, 25 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I deleted User:Faedra/Personal profile of contributor Faedra, as requested. If you have any more subpages to be deleted, you'll probably get a faster response by posting them on Wikipedia:Speedy deletions. Cheers, —No-One Jones 13:12, 25 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Peter Carroll

Hi Faedra,

The current version of Peter Carroll needs to be changed greatly. When I first read the article, I planned to place it on Wikipedia: Votes for deletion, but I saw that you have an interest in the man, so I felt I should discuss it with you first. I see the following problems with the article as it stands:

  • It is unwikified
  • It's not written from a neutral point of view. Text like "genuine" and "in every sense of the word" is clearly biased.
  • It's unencyclopedic. Anecdotes don't belong in an encyclopedia. If there is evidence to back up the story about India, it can be included, supplemented by your personal knowledge. However, it must be verified and the article should not contain parenthetical notes from its author.
  • It needs to be more biographical. There is nothing written of his early life. Also, work (and perhaps quotes) should be set off from the main text of the article and listed at the end.

If you can resolve these problems, I will not list the article on VfD.

Cheers,
