Restless has received mixed reviews from critics. Allmusic described the album in summary as "simple, energetic pop/rock fun", but focused heavily on similarities to the Killers and a lack of originality.[9] Giving the album seven out of ten stars is Polina of the Future Entertainment who said that "It’s almost unnatural to inhibit yourself, and not start moving to the sounds of album. It would be more appropriate to break into a groove, like an iPod ad in real life, rather than keep the rhythm contained in your mind. If only it was acceptable to break into song and dance wherever you are."[11] Giving the album a negative review is Tahlia Pritchard of the AU Review, who said "Unfortunately after "Faded White Dress", the CD starts to sound all too the same. Catchy songs, yes, but nothing to really make me overly excited", as well as mentioning a lack of versatility.[10] Positive again is the review by Rave Magazine, which called the album "Vibrant, flirty, positive" also saying "Restless really is an impressive achievement."[12]
