Naoshi Nakamura (中村直志, born January 27, 1979 in Chiba) is a Japanese football player who currently plays for J. League division 1 side Nagoya Grampus. He made his full international debut on August 9, 2006, in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago. On December 9 2006 he got in to an argument about his playing position in the national with the coach of the team at that current time team and withdrew from the national team saying he wouldn't play for them again. He also stated to the press that he felt perfectly fine only playing for his club as he had been doing that for many years.

Playing style

Naoshi Nakamura's playing style is often compared to former Celtic star Shunsuke Nakamura due to his same surname and his similarities of their playmaking skills. Moreover, Naoshi Nakamura is well known for his dribbling skills as well as his shooting and passing skills. Many of the Nagoya Grampus fans consider Nakamura to be the team's primary play maker.
