Sven Bender (born 27 April 1989) is a German footballer who plays for German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. He won the bronze medal of the Fritz-Walter-Award. His twin brother Lars won the gold medal.
Along with his brother Lars, he was part of the Germany U-19 side that won the 2008 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship.
International career
Bender's first call-up for the senior German national football team came in February 2011, ahead of a friendly against Italy in Dortmund, where he remained an unused substitute. Bender made his debut for Germany in a 2-1 loss to Australia.
