Melissa (in Arabic: ميليسا),Myriam Shehab, born in South Lebanon in 1982, popularly known as Melissa, was able to catapult herself to stardom in what todays industry is considered a short time achieving a degree of success that is unimaginable to most artists.Melissa started her singing career in 2005, with the release of her first song Leil Ya Leil.
She rose to fame with the release of her first album Baddi Minnak, followed by her scond album Mfakar Halak Min and hit singles singles such as Halafnalak, Yalli Naseeni, Tell Me What You Want (Gharamak) and Somebody Call My Name (Habibi).She also released several music video clips including Leil Ya Leil, Kam Sana, Habibi, Halafnalak, Mfakar Halak Min, Ta'lali Awam,Garahtak
Melissa gained popularity internationally after her collaboration with international R&B and Hip-Hop artists like Akon and Dr. Alban. She participated in numerous festivals and concerts in Lebanon and worldwide.
Melissa was discovered by music producer Jean Saliba, who is also known for his collaboration in Elissa's career
