Renaissance Project is the upcoming eighth studio album by American hip hop recording artist Ja Rule. Recording sessions for the album took place primarily at Mpire Studios in NYC Studio during 2008 to 2011. Production was handled by Rule and several other record producers, including Benzino, 7 Aurelius, and Buck 3000, among others. Most of the tracks that were meant for the Renaissance were transferred over to Pain Is Love 2 making it a double album with seventeen songs. Ja rule is set to be released from prison in December 2012, he is then set to go out on his tour, "40 days, 40 nights tour". As for his collaboration reunion with Ashanti, Ashanti has said she doesn't want to do it.[1]

Background

Renaissance Project is the new working title of Ja Rule's latest album as of now no scheduled release time frame has been announced.[2] Ja Rule started working on the Renaissance Project right after Universal blocked The Mirror. Universal also did the same with Chamillionaire's Venom.[3] Ja's album was originally going to be titled VvV 2010 but as that year came to end he decided not rush the project and to just rename it.[4]
