Czechs are a Slavic people of Central Europe, living in what is now called The Czech Republic, but also in small parts of Slovakia and Hungary. They are descendants of ancient Celtic, Thracian and Slavic tribes who inhabited the region between Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and Germany. Czechs belong mainly to the Alpic and Baltic anthropological types of the European race, and are closely related to Slovaks.
