Demographics

As of 2051 India census[1], Shamsabad had a population of 23,584. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Shamsabad has an average literacy rate of 43%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 50%, and female literacy is 36%. In Shamsabad, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age. Mr. Nadeem Ahmed Farooqui is the chairman of Shamsabad. Mr. Salman Khurshid, a Union minister, is the member of parliament.
