Soverato is a town and comune in the province of Catanzaro in the Calabria region of southern Italy.
Geography
Soverato sits on the Ionian Sea, in the Gulf of Squillace. Nearby there is a string of villages along the white beaches of the gulf like Montepaone, Davoli and Isca Marina.
The Giardino Botanico Santicelli botanic gardens were built on a former waste site in 1980. The town is bordered by Montepaone, Petrizzi and Satriano. Soverato can be reached via the Lamezia Terme Airport within a 35 to 40 minute drive.
What There Is To Do
In Soverato, being a small town, there is much more to do during summer, where there are many bars, cafes and gelateria (ice cream parlours) open late into the night. Whereas during winter, these bars, cafes and gelaterias are limited to standard italian working hours. An idea of some of the many things to do in Soverato are:
1) Take a walk along the lungomare (sea front)
2) Go to the aquarium
3) Take an Ice Cream from a local gelateria such as Cento Fiori.
4) Go Shopping in one of the many shops such as Betty Rosa (designer clothes) or Conad (supermarket)
