David Atrakchi (born December 10, 1977) is an actor who is best known for his role as Malcolm Manville in Transporter 3 [1] and Lanyon in Faces in the Crowd.[2]

Biography

Early life, Born in Former Yugoslavia, David Atrakchi spent his childhood in Opatija, and in Baghdad, Iraq. Now based between Paris and New York. He studied theater, dramatic arts and film at New York University and with esteemed acting coach Jack Waltzer [3] from the Actors Studio. In 2005 he became one of the founding partners of the French film production company and artists collaborative FullDawa Films.[4] He has directed & produced several short films as well as a documentary for UNESCO titled A World for Inclusion [5] featuring Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Movie career

David's first lead role was in the independent movie Broken Idyll by Victoria Raiser.[6] In 2008, he has appeared as Malcolm Manville alongside Jason Statham and François Berléand in Transporter 3 by Olivier Megaton, produced and written by Luc Besson. Later David appeared in a series of 5 short films for Tag Heuer -Meridiist by director Pierre Morel (Taken).

In 2010, he shoots Fred Vargas book adaptation "Un Lieu Incertain" [7] by Josée Dayan,[8] starring alongside Jean-Hugues Anglade, Charlotte Rampling and Pascal Greggory. The same year David is filming in Canada Faces in the Crowd [9] by Julien Magnat with Milla Jovovich, Julian McMahon, Sarah Wayne Callies, Michael Shanks and Marianne Faithfull.

Spring 2011, he shot in Portugal Blind Watching [10] by Andrzej Jakimowski with Alexandra Maria Lara and Edward Hogg and two episodes for Canal+ in Pragues as "Yves d'Allègre" in Borgia written by Tom Fontana with John Doman. Autumn 2011 David is shooting for HBO in Toronto, Transporter: The Series directed by Bruce McDonald (film director) with Chris Vance (actor) and Delphine Chanéac.
