The old English translation was deleted as it was still under copyright laws. I tried to translate the song to English myself, Finnish being my mother tongue and all. Hope this is fine? -Splendor Blender

It was fine, but not perfect. I made a number of minor changes. --Chino

Merge?

The subject matter of Finlandia Hymn seems to overlap with that on the main Finlandia article. Is there a need for two seperate articles, particularly as Finlandia is surely a more popular search term than Finlandia Hymn, but is actually the most sketchy article of the two? I agree with your statement of the situation. I started by re-organizing the pages, so that the symphonic poem's page was even more spartan, hoping it would re-direct people to the hymn page. But then I decided to make Finlandia a re-direct to Finlandia Hymn, and moved the old Finlandia page fo Finlandia (symphonic poem). Comments? I hope no one minds I took the liberty. --BlueMoonlet 02:15, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Finlandia alos makes an appearance in the Baptist hymnbook published by the Psalms and Hymns Trust 4 Southampton Row, London, with a text attributed to Harriet Beecher Stowe whose hymn writing skills go unmentioned in her Wikipedia biography. Maamme is de jeure national anthem of Finland. Finlandia Hymni is more like the song "Jerusalem" in England.62.106.12.108 (talk) 22:39, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

V. A. Koskenniemi died 1962, the words are free after year 2032

Remeber that V. A. Koskenniemi died 1962 and the words are free after year 2032 because copyright time in whole Europe are 70 years.

All translations that are made from finnish versions, will have also copyrighted, so my proposal are that shall we remove translations also--Musamies (talk) 05:34, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
