The eighth season of Desperate Housewives, a television series created by Marc Cherry, is expected to begin being broadcast in the USA on September 25, 2011.[1]

Desperate Housewives was renewed for an eighth season by ABC on May 17, 2011.[2] It is confirmed that the eighth season will be the show's final season.[3][4][5]

Production

Production for the show's eighth season is currently underway. Brenda Strong has stated in an interview that this season's mystery arc will reveal more secrets of the Young family, giving her character more screentime.[6]

Desperate Housewives may have one more time warp in it before it signs off in May. The ABC soap — which famously jumped ahead five years at the end of Season 4 — may take a more substantial leap (a few decades) in the series finale.[7]

Cast

The stars of Desperate Housewives finalized new deals to make way for Season 8,[8][9] and have recently signed at the price of $12 million.[10]

Charles Mesure has joined the cast of Desperate Housewives as Ben Faulkner, a ruthless self-made contractor who will find Renee Perry attractive.[15]

The producers of Desperate Housewives want Dana Delany back to wrap up the Katherine Mayfair storyline.[16][17]

Andrea Parker will play Jane, a love interest for Tom Scavo, in a recurring role.[13] Miguel Ferrer will also play a recurring role, as Andre Zeller, a part-time illustrator who clashes with Susan Delfino.[11]
