Relationship with Taylor Lautner

See Taylor Lautner#Personal life: Is there a reason that it is mentioned there, but not here? --KnightMove (talk) 13:49, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's unimportant except to 12 year old girls and people who read tabloids. Supposedly they were "dating" for like 2 months. Then they stopped and dated some other people. This type of minutae, lists of people who someone went on a few dates with, really doesn't have any place here. It ought to be removed from the Lautner article as well. - Burpelson AFB 18:50, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As a short mention, I think the information is significant enough. Anyway it does not make sense to mention the short relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal but leave the one with Taylor Lautner out. So this revision leaves the article inconsistent. --KnightMove (talk) 22:55, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think, if there's going to be a section about her relationships, that the one she had with Lautner is relevant. It doesn't matter if we think it shouldn't be relevant, it matters whether it can be properly sourced, and it can. LHM 23:20, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it does matter whether we think it's notable. Wikipedia is not a tabloid; in this capacity, Wikipedia does not document everything that may be verifiable. I've pared down the information on Swift's relationships, to a more readable level, but I doubt the relationships with Lautner and Gyllenhaal have any encyclopedic value. The relationships with Jonas and Mayer may be somewhat encyclopedic, however, due to the songs resulting from them.  Chickenmonkey  01:17, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, she did have a relationship with Lautner, the hidden message in her lyrics in the Speak Now booklet spell out TAY in "Back to December". Not to mention when she was on Saturday Night Live she made reference to their relationship in her "Monologue Song" saying "And if you're wondering if I might be dating the werewolf from Twilight." She pauses right there and purposely and silently says "Hi, Taylor." and blows him a kiss and winks at him and purposely says "I'm not gonna comment on that." though technically she did. And when Lauter was on there a week or so later he too also references in their relationship but in the personality of his Twilight character as well as the reference to the VMA incident with Kanye. Plus any true Taylor Swift fan can tell you they were in a relationship. No one is questioning weather the relationship happened but if it is necessary to be included in the article, is it encyclopedic or not. Jnorton7558 (talk) 07:41, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not actually trying to get into it. I'm just going by what I've heard and seen and what's been pointed out etc. Not really anything more then giving my personal opinion on the matter and nothing more and I'm moving on. lol! JamesAlan1986 (talk-Contributes) 07:52, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hannah Montana: The Movie Credits

There's no way to actually references this in other then to tell you to watch the end credits and if you look closely it says "taylor swift HERSELF" in end credits of the movie she is not credited as "Woman/Girl singing in barn." she is credited as herself and as such it should be posted on here that she is. You're right; good edit.  Chickenmonkey  07:51, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I also posted in her new fragrance as well that was announced on her official site. It might not be in the right spot and it definitely needs a bit more information then I posted if someone could do that that'd be great! JamesAlan1986 (talk-Contributes) 07:54, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I posted it in the Merchandise secion. JamesAlan1986 (talk-Contributes) 07:56, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requested addition

Recent footage and in-concert photos of Swift have shown what appears to be a sizable script tattoo on her left arm. However, according to this source it's not a tattoo but in fact Swift has apparently started to write lyrics from other songwriters on her arm as tribute, and they change from show to show. Aside from this being a rather unusual way for her to pay tribute to fellow artists, I think it might be worth adding on the basis that some folks apparently think it's an actual tattoo (not an unreasonable assumption given the fact a number of personalities such as Hayden Panettiere, Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox sport similar markings, but as full tattoos) and might turn to Wikipedia for the answer (as indeed I did initially when I first heard about it). In this case it's clearly a positive thing, so I can't imagine BLP being an issue since we have a source. 68.146.71.145 (talk) 18:36, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ancestry

Taylor Swift is of English, Scottish, Scotch-Irish, Belgian (Flemish), German, and Dutch descent. She is the direct descendant of Thomas Prence. I got a reference from [1]. Just browse her family tree. GMA7 Powers 2008 (talk) 04:34, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

For further proof of evidence, here's the link: [2]. It indicates that she is of German, English, Scottish, Welsh, French, Italian, Irish, Dutch, and Swedish descent. 112.206.171.184 (talk) 11:30, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
