• The death toll in the Philippines from Typhoon Nesat reaches 43 with Typhoon Nalgae expected to cause further flood problems. (News Limited)

Law and crime

• A teenage mother is shot and injured while holding her 11-month-old son after being caught up in crossfire in what is believed to have been a gang-related attack near the Queen's Park area of London. Two other teenage girls are also injured.(BBC) The case is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police' s Project Trident.)(Telegraph)
